The Asian Dramaturgs' Network (ADN) [Table Meeting E3]

by Lim How Ngean and Linda Mayasari The Asian Dramaturgs' Network

Table Meeting E3 16:30 - 17:00

Room 322 Chamchuri 10 Bldg.

The Asian Dramaturgs' Network (ADN) was formed with the intent of mapping and networking the region's dramaturgical experience and knowledge. ADN recognises and embraces diverse and new ways of working and thinking in dramaturgy. As an increasingly growing critical field in performance, dramaturgy in Asia presents rich and diverse approaches to the discipline due to the region's cultural and artistic complexities and multiplicities. ADN hopes to connect individual dramaturgs in Asia to develop dialogues, discourses, collaborations and other professional and research relationships. ADN envisions a platform of rich exchanges of ideas and resources in various ways of intellectual, artistic and practical collaborations, symposiums, colloquiums and workshops.

ADN is collaboratively conceptualised with Centre 42 (Singapore), the network’s principal organising partner. The inaugural ADN Symposium was held in Singapore in 2016. Since then, various gatherings of dramaturgs, performance makers and arts educators from the Asia-Pacific region have taken place in Japan, Australia and Indonesia. So far, ADN has had great fortune to organise six regional symposiums and one dramaturgy laboratory in three short years.

Founding Director Lim How Ngean with Company Manager of Centre 42 Ma Yanling will be present to talk more about ADN's organisational objectives, myriad of activities and future plans.
