Kriz Chan Nyein is a writer, director, performer and contemporary artist from Myanmar. He studied at the School of Art, Design and Media at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore majoring in filmmaking. Kriz has made numerous documentaries, short films, music videos and commercials. He also creates video art installations that are shown in contemporary art exhibitions and occasionally contributes articles to local magazines about cinema.

Since 2018, he became involved in the contemporary theater scene in Myanmar; he is a trained ensemble actor with the New Yangon Theater Institute (NYTI). His debut performance as a theater actor was in a NYTI production called, “The Grand Balcony” – an adaptation of Le Balcon by Jean Genet. It was staged at Myanm/art Gallery in Yangon and the Chulalongkorn University Museum in Bangkok at the BIPAM Festival.

Kriz has written and directed an original contemporary theater play, ‘A Land where Words Bloom as Flowers’. It premiered at the Secretariat Building in Yangon, at the opening of the SagarAhlaKuHtone Exhibition organized by Facebook, where his video installation work, "Love is the Answer" was also exhibited. The exhibition traveled to some cities in Myanmar.

Kriz is a prominent member of the LGBTQIA+ community in Myanmar.

Kriz เขียนบทละครและกำกับผลงานละครร่วมสมัยของของตัวเองที่มีชื่อว่า ‘A Land where Words Bloom as Flowers’ ละครเรื่องนี้จัดแสดงครั้งแรกที่อาคาร ​Secretariat ในกรุงย่างกุ้ง ในการเปิดงานนิทรรศการ SagarAhlaKuhtone จัดโดย Facebook ผลงานวิดีโอรูปแบบศิลปะจัดวางของเขาที่ชื่อว่า “Love is the Answer” ก็ได้จัดแสดงเช่นกัน และนิทรรศการนี้เดินทางไปจัดแสดงที่เมืองอื่นในเมียนมาร์อีกด้วย

มากไปกว่านั้น Kriz ยังเป็นสมาชิกคนสำคัญในชุมชน LGBTQIA+ ในสาธารณรัฐแห่งสหภาพเมียนมาร์
